President's Message
Welcome to the Waldorf Wildcats Youth Football and Cheer program (WWC). It is hard to believe another football season is just around the corner. First of all, I would like to thank the parents, community, sponsors, coaches and the WWC board for their efforts in making such a successful season in 2011. The season was memorable in many ways, a bold new look for our players with new uniforms and helmet decals, the enthusiasm and growth of our cheerleading squads and a strong showing in post season playoff action. The Wildcats not only managed to take five teams to the playoffs in 2011, our cheer squads all placed in the Charles County Cheer Competition. All of our teams did a great job in 2011; most importantly they did so with the poise and character that so proudly represents our club and our community.
This is only possible due to the many great leaders dedicated to providing for our youth football players and cheerleaders. Along the sidelines are also great volunteers, coaches, team parents, parents who drive their sons and daughters to practice, prepare late meals, and give their sons and daughters emotional support. Take comfort in knowing your child is learning life social skills, a solid work ethic and love for the game of football in a safe and supportive environment.
The WWC board strives in its mission to make our program about the kids. We want to cultivate an environment that everyone believes is very special, something people want to be part of as players, cheerleaders, volunteers, sponsors and fans. We are committed to providing an exceptional and rewarding experience for your sons and daughters. I challenge our student athletes to be strong role models by setting and achieving their goals in the classroom and in the community as well as on and off the field. Furthermore, I encourage our parents and community to get involved in our program for the 2012 season to continue to make this a successful program we can all enjoy and be proud of.
Speaking of success, I think feedback from the parents is of utmost importance. I would personally like to ask that everyone take a moment and give us feedback regarding our 2011 season. Our Board Members and/or I have spoken with many of you and addressed your concerns and thanked you for your compliments. Please visit our website (www.waldorfwildcats.com) and make use of the Contact Us link along the top of the page. Provide us feedback; both positive and/or negative; and give us a chance to make it right! I promise you that everyone who provides us feedback will receive a phone call from one of the board members to discuss your comments. We have new board members in place who are here and ready to serve.
Registration for the 2012 season is scheduled to open on April 1. We encourage you to register early to help our board forecast player count and plan accordingly. With summer activities and family vacations, August approaches quickly. Calendar activities leading up to practices and continuing through the post season are listed on our Calendar on our web site. If you are new to the Waldorf Wildcats, please see the Football Information and Cheer Information pages on our website. On behalf of the Waldorf Wildcat board, we thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Billy Absher
President
